A health economic evaluation of nCLE for the diagnosis of pancreatic cysts
EUS-FNA+nCLE has recently been evaluated for the diagnosis of pancreatic cysts and has shown excellent performance, enabling a more confident diagnosis of serous cystadenomas thanks to the visualization of a very specific pattern: the superficial vascular network. This improvement of diagnostic accuracy, as well as the capacity to discriminate cysts that have the potential to become malignant from those that are benign, helps to reduce both unnecessary surgical intervention and long-term follow-up surveillance.
